Imagine that you could not tell your friends apart from your enemies and at any second your friends could become your enemies. This is the basis of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, one of the best written alien invasion movies in history. The main character, Miles, comes home to discover that things are not the way that he left them. His patients are complaining that their relatives are not their relatives. Miles dismisses this as "mass hysteria" until he finds a half completed clone.

As in all Hollywood films he slowly solves the mystery. Where the film differed, however, was that in its original form the good guys lost and the entire country was eventually taken over by the Body Snatchers. The Hayes Code could not let such an outlandish victory of the aliens, who represented communists, take place. That is why the film was censored until United Artists forced the beginning and end of the movie on its director. So when you watch the movie and cheer when Miles finally finds help just remember.... that's not the way it's supposed to be.
